DePaul Golf Opens Giles-Spratley Collegiate Monday

Blue Demons look to continue strong spring season
MIDLOTHIAN, VA. – DePaul golf returns to competition Monday, April 6 to kick off the Giles-Spratley Collegiate, hosted by Richmond. The two-day event takes place at Independence Golf Club, a par-72 course measuring 7,135 yards.
DePaul tees off Monday at 8 a.m. CT in a shotgun start. The 14-team field plays 36 holes on day one followed by a final 18 on Tuesday. Teams in attendance include Charleston, Delaware, DePaul, East Carolina, Florida Gulf Coast, Jacksonville, James Madison, Liberty, Longwood, North Alabama, North Florida, Richmond, Stetson and VCU.
The Blue Demons lineup is expected to include North Chery, Billy Gneiser, Dominic Lucchesi, Sam Mortell and Rohan Gopaldas. The five are coming off a season-best performance at the UC San Diego Invitational where the Blue Demons finished fifth in a 17-team field. DePaul tallied an 860 (-4) across the three-day event, the program's best score since 2004.
Chery led the way, finishing 12th overall at Torrey Pines with a 212 (-4), including back-to-back under-par rounds to close the tournament. Lucchesi and Gneiser rounded out a trio of top-25 finishes for DePaul, with Gneiser posting a career-best 216 (E).
DePaul will have its final tuneup before the postseason April 20-21 at the Hawkeye Invitational in Riverside, Iowa.
