DePaul Agrees to Home-and-Home SMU

CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball has agreed to a home-and-home series with ACC opponent SMU beginning in 2026-27. The Blue Demons will host the Mustangs at Wintrust Arena on Dec. 5, 2026, with a return game at SMU to be played in 2027-28. The matchup will mark the first meeting between the two programs.
SMU went 20-14 last season, making its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2017. The Mustangs are led by head coach Andy Enfield, who will enter his third season at the helm in 2026-27 after leading SMU to back-to-back 20-win seasons.
Head coach Chris Holtmann is set to enter his third season leading the Blue Demons in 2026-27. Last season, Holtmann guided DePaul to its second-most BIG EAST wins in program history and its highest finish in the conference standings since joining the league in 2005. The Blue Demons also recorded the best KenPom defensive efficiency rating in program history, finishing with a top-35 national ranking.
DePaul enters the 2026-27 season with a nationally ranked transfer portal class featuring four-star transfers Magoon Gwath and Ade Popoola.
