6-3 forward lands in Chicago for final season of eligibility
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball head coach Jill M. Pizzotti announced the addition of transfer forward Doyinsola Lijirin ahead of the 2026-27 season.
A native of Ondo State, Nigeria, Lijirin joins the Blue Demons after spending the previous three seasons at Wagner, where she appeared in 84 career games and made 57 starts. Across her collegiate career, she has totaled 545 points and 408 rebounds while shooting 41.1 percent from the field.
The 6-3 forward is coming off a breakout 2025-26 campaign in which she earned All-Northeast Conference (NEC) Second Team honors after averaging 11.1 points and 7.5 rebounds per game across 32 appearances. In addition to career-best marks in scoring and rebounding, she also added 36 steals, 23 blocks and shot 43.8 percent from the floor.
"We're very excited to add Doy's front court experience to our team for next season," said Pizzotti. "She has proven to be effective on the glass and scoring in the paint. We expect Doy to make an impact on both sides of the ball with her ability to run the floor, use her length and protect the paint. She's looking to challenge herself at the highest level, and we know the BIG EAST will provide a great opportunity for her continued growth."
Lijirin has shown steady development throughout her collegiate career, improving both her scoring and rebounding averages each season. After averaging 1.0 points and 1.6 rebounds per game as a freshman, she increased her production to 5.8 points and 4.6 rebounds per contest in 2024-25 before posting career-best numbers as a junior.
Known for her physical presence in the paint and ability to impact both ends of the floor, Lijirin adds experience and size to the Blue Demon front court as the roster for the 2026-27 season continues to take shape. Lijirin is DePaul's third addition this spring joining Louis Volker (George Mason) and Zoey Ward (Iona).
