DePaul Volleyball Sells Out No. 13 Penn State Matinee

Blue Demons set to host No. 13 Penn State in front of sold-out McGrath-Phillips Arena crowd
CHICAGO – Less than 24 hours after breaking the all-time single-game attendance record for a volleyball match in the state of Illinois (8,786) against No. 1 Nebraska, DePaul volleyball announced Saturday afternoon that it has sold out its Monday matinee against No. 13 Penn State. It marks the first time in program history that DePaul has faced ranked opponents in consecutive matches.
"DePaul fans showed up Friday night, and we felt their energy go toe-to-toe with the Nebraska crowd," said head coach Marie Zidek. "They're showing up again for Penn State. We're so grateful for the support, the team feeds off it, and we look forward to representing DePaul with competitive pride."
Monday's matchup at McGrath-Phillips Arena is the third of eight-straight home matches to open the season, with first serve set for 3 p.m. CT. The contest will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU.
DePaul students are encouraged to take part in the excitement as Welcome Week festivities continue on campus. A limited number of free student tickets remain, and students can receive free admission at the door with their DePaul University ID.
