Kathleen Doyle enters her second season as assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the DePaul women’s basketball program in 2026-27. Doyle was named to Jill Pizzotti’s staff on April 29, 2025.
In March 2026, Doyle was named a Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Thirty Under 30 honoree, which recognizes 30 up-and-coming coaches aged 30 and under at all levels of the game. She is the third straight DePaul staff member to earn the distinction, following Ashton Millender in 2024 and 2025.
Doyle made an immediate impact in her first season in Chicago, working primarily with the guard unit while leading DePaul’s recruiting efforts. She tutored junior guard Kate Novik to All-BIG EAST Second Team honors as Novik led the Blue Demons with 12.2 points per game while adding 6.4 rebounds and 3.5 assists. Doyle was also instrumental in assembling DePaul’s 2026-27 transfer class.
In addition to her collegiate coaching responsibilities, Doyle is serving a four-year term on the USA Basketball Junior National Team Committee through 2029. The committee selects the coaches and athletes who represent the United States in international competition.
Before arriving at DePaul, Doyle spent one season at Virginia Tech as director of recruiting and player personnel. With the Hokies, she assisted with on- and off-campus recruiting operations, skill development, scouting and analytics, helping Virginia Tech to a 19-13 record and a WBIT second-round appearance in head coach Megan Duffy’s first season.
Prior to coaching, Doyle was a second-round selection by the Indiana Fever in the 2020 WNBA Draft and played for the Fever before competing professionally in Poland and Turkey through 2023.
Doyle was the 2020 Big Ten Player of the Year at Iowa, averaging 18.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists as a senior. A three-year captain for the Hawkeyes, she started 114 of 123 games from 2016-20. Doyle earned third-team AP All-America honors as a senior, was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection and a three-time Academic All-American. She earned a degree in journalism and mass communication from Iowa.
A four-year standout at Benet Academy, Doyle was named Illinois Miss Basketball in 2016 and led the Redwings to back-to-back IHSA Class 4A state championships in 2015 and 2016. She was a three-time all-state selection and scored more than 1,600 career points.
