DePaul head coach Doug Bruno announced today, November 13 that Ola Belau has signed a national letter of intent to play women's basketball at DePaul University.
Belau, a 6-5 center, is a native of Gdansk, Poland, and currently plays at Labette Community College in Parsons, Kan. Last year, she averaged 13 points and eight rebounds per game for Labette and leads the team this season with just over 20 points and eight rebounds per contest.
"At 6-5, Ola gives us a much needed additional inside presence," Bruno said. "She is an exceptionally skilled basketball player."
Belau is the fifth player to sign with DePaul during the early signing period. She will join Jenni Dant, Khara Smith and Claudette Towers of the Chicago area and Lindsay Forsberg from Tulsa, Okla., next season at DePaul.
