"Eddy was one of the more refreshing recruiting experiences I've ever had," Kennedy said. "For a player of his stature, both he and his family handled the process very well and were by no means overwhelmed. For a player of his age and ability in this era of recruiting, Eddy is tremendously grounded and humble despite all of the attention he has received. Now that he has signed, I know he is really looking forward to his senior year, both athletically and academically.
"It goes without saying that we are extremely excited that Eddy has chosen DePaul," Kennedy said. "As a player he has done a great job of learning how to play with his size. Eddy has tremendous skills for a big player and with a determined work ethic, he will only get better and better."
A 6-11, 285-pound center, Curry has been rated as the top high school senior in the nation by numerous publications and recruiting services. As a junior at Thornwood last season, he averaged 24.6 points, 11.2 rebounds and four blocks per game.
