Jenni Dant
5-10, Guard
Lincolnshire, Illinois
Stevenson High School
Dant, a 5-10 guard, is regarded as one Illinois' top defensive players. As a junior, Dant lead Stevenson to a 30-4 record and will be the goto player this year on a team that is ranked fourth in the Chicago Sun-Times Super 25 preseason poll. She chose the Blue Demons over Indiana, Marquette, St. John's and Saint Louis.
"With Jenni, we're excited about her combativeness and defensive presence and feel she is a much better scorer and shooter than the rest of the world realizes," Bruno said.
Lindsay Forsberg
5-6, Guard
Tulsa, Oklahoma
Jenks High School
Forsberg, a 5-6 guard from Tulsa, Oklahoma, has been recognized as one of Oklahoma's top guards and three-point shooters. She led Jenks High School to the Class 6A State Championship a year ago and was named MVP after scoring 60 points in three state tournament games. She chose DePaul over the University of Tulsa.
"Linsday Forsberg is a competitor and an excellent three-point shooter to go with her leadership skills," Bruno said. "She was the MVP Oklahoma's Class 6A state tournament and led her team to the title."
Khara Smith
6-2, Center
Hillside, Illinois
Proviso West High School
Smith, a 6-2 center, averaged a double-double as a junior at Proviso West with 16.7 points and 10 rebounds per contest. She is the daughter of former NBA player and Chicago native Ken Norman.
"Khara had an excellent summer," said Bruno. "She was all over the ball off the glass and we think she has a tremendous upside in the power forward position."
Claudette Towers
5-9, Guard
Maywood, Illinois
Fenwick High School
Towers, a 5-9 guard, was a first team All-State pick by the Chicago Sun-Times as a junior while playing on Fenwick's third-place team at the state tournament. She is rated as the nation's No. 137 recruit by the All Star Girls Report.
"Claudette did a great job of leading Fenwick as a junior," Bruno said. "We were very impressed with her and believe she has a tremendous upside because of her defensive presence and the fact that even she doesn't know yet how well she can score."
