Women's Soccer Loses At Memphis, 2-0

The DePaul women's soccer team dropped to 1-2 in Conference USA play after losing, 2-0, at Memphis on Friday night. The Blue Demons had won two of the last three matches before Friday's loss. DePaul is now 2-6 overall.
The Tigers were in control most of the match, taking 21 shots compared to two for DePaul. The two teams ended the first half in a scoreless tie.
Forward Candice Spiniolas scored the two goals for Memphis. She scored the game's first goal in the 52nd minute to give the Tigers the 1-0 lead. Ten minutes later, she struck again for the 2-0 final score.
"We've played better this season," said DePaul head coach John Wilson. "It was disappointing, but we are putting this match behind us and looking forward to playing on Sunday."
The Blue Demons look to even their league record on Sunday afternoon. The travel to Birmingham to play UAB at 1 p.m. The DePaul men's team will follow that match with a 3 p.m. contest against the Blazers.
