The DePaul Blue Demons evened their Conference USA record at 2-2 with a 3-1 win at UAB on September 24. The Blue Demons took advantage of an own goal in the first half and goals by Amber Prindle and Jeannette Croce early in the second half to build a 3-0 advantage.
On a hot and humid day in Birmingham, the Blue Demons started the match a little sluggish as they tallied just one shot in the first half. After halftime, DePaul went on the offensive attack with the two quick goals.
In the 47th minute, freshman Amber Prindle scored her first career goal on a Blue Demon corner kick. Jeannette Croce matched Prindle with a goal from 18 yards out in the 54th minute.
"We came out a little flat in the first half. It was very hot in Birmingham today," said head coach John Wilson. "In the second half, we put things together and played DePaul soccer. I was very proud for the way we turned things around and played in the heat and humidity."
The Blue Demons are now 3-6 on the season and 2-2 in league play. Their next match is scheduled for September 29 when they host C-USA member Charlotte. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Wish Field.
