Marlon Brooks Signs Letter of Intent To Play At DePaul

CHICAGO -- Marlon Brooks, a sophomore at Lincoln College and a native of Peoria, Ill., has signed a letter-of-intent to attend DePaul University, it was announced today by head coach Pat Kennedy.
Brooks, a 6-1, 170-pound guard, averaged 17 points, 4.5 assists and two steals a game as a sophomore for Lincoln College and was a Junior College All-American. In addition, Brooks was the Collegiate Conference of Illinois' Co-Player of the Year and was also named All-Region, All-Conference and was a member of the region's All-Tournament squad. He helped Lincoln to a 26-7 record as a sophomore. As a freshman, he was the league's Co-Freshman of the Year while helping Lincoln to a 25-7 season.
Brooks graduated from Peoria's Manual High School where he was a member of two state championship teams and averaged over 20 points per game as a senior. Manual is also the alma mater of former DePaul greats David Booth and Willie Coleman.
"Peoria Manual products have always been about winning and Marlon also comes to us from an outstanding junior college program," Kennedy said. "Marlon is exactly what were looking for in terms of a complete guard with outstanding quickness, speed and a great first step. He will be a real plus to our style of play."
