Birchall Paces Men's Cross Country

<P>SOUTH BEND, IN - Chris Birchall finished sixth overall and helped the Blue Demons to a fourth place finish at the annual National Catholic Championships on Friday at the Notre Dame Cross Country Course.</P>
<P>Birchall, a senior from Leeds, England, finished the 8K course in 25:08 and was DePaul's only top 10 finisher. As a team, the Blue Demons placed fourth with 150 points. Fifth-ranked Notre Dame won the event with 15 points.</P>
<P>Larry Vonckx took 13th overall in 25:37 while Luis Samayoa finished 14th in 25:38.
DePaul will be in action again next Saturday at the annual Sean Earl Lakefront Invitational at Chicago's Montrose Beach.
