Women's Tennis Doubles Team Reaches Round Of 16

EAST LANSING, Mich. – DePaul’s Szilvia Kelemen and Marina Parashkevova reached the round of 16 at the annual ITA/Omni Hotels Midwest Regional Championships held over the weekend on the campus of Michigan State University.
The duo opened the tournament with an 8-1 victory over a Cleveland State tandem followed by an 8-2 win over a team from Michigan. In the round of 16, Kelemen and Parashkevova dropped an 8-6 decision to the top-seeded duo from Indiana.
In singles play, Parashkevova opened play with a 7-5, 6-4 win over Branca Savic from Northern Illinois and then dropped a 6-1, 6-4 decision to Michelle DeCosta from Michigan.
Kelemen opened singles play with a 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 loss to Lisa D’Ameilo of Eastern Michigan and then beat Nicole Derouin of UIC 6-1, 1-6, 1-0 (10-8) in the consolation match.
