Moffett Wins Conference USA Title

HATTIESBURG, Miss – Erin Moffett became the first DePaul women’s cross country runner to win a league title since 1992 when she captured the individual title at the annual Conference USA Championships on Saturday at the Van Hook Golf Course.
Moffett, a junior from Lake Zurich, Ill., won the meet in 20:54.68, finishing ahead of Marquette’s Jessie Swan who clocked a 21:06.93. Moffett is DePaul’s first conference champion since Alison Grosset won the 1992 Great Midwest Conference title.
Along with Moffett, Leah Rygh finished second for the Blue Demons and 16th overall in 22:23.10 while Shelley Knight was 26th and Marlene Key 27th.
DePaul as a team posted the program’s highest finish in C-USA with a third place showing.
