CHICAGO - Heading into the final month of the season, former DePaul standouts Latasha Byears and Lenae Williams are making their mark in the WNBA. Byears and the defending champion Los Angeles Sparks have the league's best record while Williams and the Detroit Shock have not been so fortunate as they hold the league's worst record.
Byears, who starred for DePaul from 1994-96, is in her fifth season in the WNBA. As of Aug. 7, she ranked seventh in the league in offensive rebounds per game while averaging 7.2 points and 5.9 boards per contest. To get all of Byears' stats, click here.
Williams, the 18th overall pick earlier this summer in the WNBA draft, has had an up-and-down rookie season. The sharpshooter has played in 24 of Detroit's 29 games while averaging 2.6 points per game. Despite playing just six minutes per game, Williams is fourth on the team in three-point field goals.
