Records
DePaul is 8-2 after beating Loyola-Chicago 95-74 on Thursday at the Allstate Arena. Cincinnati is 7-3 after stopping Chattanooga 81-51 on Thursday at the Shoemaker Center. This is the Conference USA opener for both teams.
Polls
Cincinnati is receiving votes in both the Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Top 25 polls. DePaul is not mentioned in either poll.
Series
Cincinnati leads the series 24-9 and has won six straight over the Blue Demons. Last year, the Bearcats swept DePaul winning 89-72 in Cincinnati and 79-62 at the United Center. DePaul's last victory over the Bearcats came on February 16, 1999 on Willie Coleman's free throw with no time remaining in overtime.
Coaches
DePaul's Dave Leitao is in his first season with the Blue Demons and is 8-2. Dave is 30-37 in three seasons as a head coach and has never faced Cincinnati. Bob Huggins is in his 22nd season as a head coach including the last 14 with the Bearcats. He is 507-175 overall and 339-103 at Cincinnati. Huggins is 22-4 against the Blue Demons.
