Women's Cross Country Places Eighth at Illini Challenge

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The DePaul women’s cross country team placed eighth at the Illini Challenge on Saturday morning and was led by Marlene Key. Host Illinois won the event while Miami's Andrea Kremer won the individual title.
Key took 20th out of 86 competitors with a time of 18:46. She was followed by Carrie Moffett, Shelley Knight and Olivia Conlon. Moffett took 34th in 10:09 with Knight in 45th place at 19:21 and Conlon finishing in 19:56 to place 64th. Host Illinois won the team title just ahead of Miami (Ohio) and Southern Illinois. Kremer won the 5k with a time of 17:12.
Up next for the cross country teams is the Conference USA Championships. The league meet will take place on Nov. 1 in Tampa, Fla.
