TAMPA, Fla. – The DePaul women’s cross country team finished in 11th place on Saturday morning at the eighth annual Conference USA Championships. The 6k race took place at the USF Golf Course in Tampa and was won for the fourth straight year by Marquette. Marlene Key led DePaul by finishing 28th overall.
Key finished in a time of 22:43.80 while Carrie Moffett placed 35th in 23:01.40. Shelley Knight was 55th and was followed by Olivia Conlon in 72nd place. Knight ran the 6k course in 23:53.20 and Conlon finished in 24:26.80.
The Golden Eagles women's team took the team title with 43 points, edging out TCU (55 points) for second place. USF finished third with 118 points. Junior Mary Kinyanjui of TCU captured the individual title with a time of 20:45.40, while teammate Ami Batler placed second with a time of 20:46.30 and Marquette's Jodi Jakubek was third with a time of 20:56.30.
