CHICAGO – The DePaul men’s and women’s cross country teams travel to South Bend, Ind. on Friday for the 24th annual National Catholic Cross Country Invitational. There will 35 women’s team competing in the 5k race and 31 men’s programs in the 5-mile competition.
Last weekend, the Blue Demons competed at the Great American Legends race in West Lafayette, Ind. The men’s team finished third while the women’s squad was sixth. Individually, Donnie Warner was sixth out of 87 male runners while Marlene Key was 11th out of 97 female competitors.
The National Catholic Cross Country Invitational was first held in 1980. On the men’s side, host Notre Dame has won 15 times, including the last eight years in a row.
