Cross Country Teams Compete at National Catholic Championships

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – On Friday afternoon, the DePaul cross country teams competed at the 24th annual National Catholic Cross Country Championships at Notre Dame. The men’s team placed third out of 28 teams while the women’s squad was ninth out of 32 women’s programs.
Donnie Warner was the top finisher for the men’s team at fourth overall out of 217 runners. His time of 24:52 was behind winner Ryan Sheehan of St. Francis (Pa.) at 24:37. Other top finishers for the men’s squad were Richard Byrne in ninth place, Gavin Kennedy in 15th and Ben Cooke in 17th place.
On the women’s side, Marlene Key was ninth overall out of 256 competitors. She finished in a time of 18:51 and was followed by Carrie Moffett in 23rd place. Notre Dame took the top four places led by Kerry Meagher in a winning time of 17:45.
