MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The DePaul women’s tennis team made a grand debut in BIG EAST Conference play by beating Rutgers 6-1 on Saturday in Milwaukee.
The Blue Demons opened the match by sweeping the doubles action in convincing fashion. The domination continued as DePaul took five of the six singles matches.
“It was a very solid performance by the team,” DePaul head coach Mark Ardizzone said. “We really wanted to make a strong impression in our first ever Big East match and I was really pleased that our doubles played well and were dominant at a couple positions.”
