CHICAGO – It was head coach Mark Ardizzone described as the best team performance in his 10-years as head coach, DePaul put it all together and swamped Auburn 7-0 on Sunday at Lakeshore Athletic Club.
“I am extremely proud of our team because we played so hard and with a lot of energy and emotion. It was really fun to watch,” Ardizzone said. It was really nice to get a great school like Auburn to come play us here in Chicago and we really showed what we are capable of when it all comes together.”
DePaul opened the match by sweeping the double action all by identical 8-5 scores. The domination continued in singles play as DePaul took all six matches in straight sets.
The win moved DePaul to 9-4. The Blue Demons travel to nationally-ranked Wisconsin on Saturday.
