TAMPA, Fla. – DePaul’s first outdoor match of the spring season proved to be a tough one as 41st-ranked USF blanked the 71st-ranked Blue Demons 7-0 in a BIG EAST Conference dual on Tuesday at USF.
The loss snapped DePaul’s winning streak at seven and the Blue Demons fell to 12-5 overall and 3-1 in league play.
“We were just beat by a better team today,” DePaul head coach Mark Ardizzone said. “USF is a very talented team and really took it to us. This was our first match outside and it showed us we have a lot of work to do.”
The Bulls took the doubles point by sweeping all three matches and then continued in singles play, taking all six matches.
