LOUISVILLE, Ky. – For the second time in a week, the DePaul women's soccer team saw lightning and heavy rain interrupt and evenutally postpone their match. Friday night's game at Louisville was delayed 62 minutes into the match after lightning halted the action. After a delay of over two hours to wait out the weather, it was decided that the match would be postponed. A date and time of the rescheuled match is yet to be determined.
Last Sunday, the DePaul-Loyola match was postponed until Tuesday. In Tuesday's rescheduled game, the Blue Demons dropped a 1-0 decision to the Ramblers.
The two teams played 17 minutes into the second half on Friday night when lighting and heavy rain entered the Louisville area. Under NCAA rules, a soccer game is declared a “no contest” if it hasn’t progressed to 70 minutes.
DePaul returns to Wish Field on Sunday afternoon for a BIG EAST match against Cincinnati. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
