Women's Tennis Enters Wildcat Invitational

CHICAGO The DePaul women’s tennis team competes this weekend at Northwestern’s Wildcat Invitational. The three-day tournament runs Friday through Sunday at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center in Evanston, Illinois.
The Blue Demons join a field of competition that includes Arkansas, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, South Carolina, William and Mary, Wisconsin and Northwestern. The bracket-style tournament consists of four singles fights and two doubles flights.
Junior Dunja Antunovic and freshman Katarina Milinkovic represent DePaul in the Flight A singles bracket. In the first round, Antunovic takes on Stephanie Kebler of Michigan State and Milinkovic faces Jessica Seyferth of Wisconsin. The first round of Flight B pits freshman Selma Salkovic against Michigan State’s Lindsey Longergan and senior Gergana Ganeva against the Spartans’ Marianne Eelens.
Three Blue Demons enter the Flight C singles bracket. The first round match-ups are senior Bojana Murisic against Michelle Murphy of Michigan State, senior Anja Mihaldinec versus Katya Mirnova of Wisconsin, and sophomore Kirsten Gambrell against Wisconsin’s Erin Jobe.
The first round of Flight A doubles features two DePaul teams. Mihaldinec and Antunovic face Preethi Subramanian and Nika Koukhartchouk of Mississippi, while senior Beatrix Csordas joins Ganeva to play Michigan State’s Manon Noe and Longeran.
The Flight B doubles bracket also holds a pair of DePaul tandems. Salkovic and Murisic take on Yobe and Elizabeth Dolan of Wisconsin, while Gambrell and Milinkovic play Kathryn Bonnen of Michigan State and Melissa Hoffmeister of Arkansas.
The Wildcat Invitational is DePaul’s last tournament before the October 19-23 ITA Midwest Regional Championships.
