Erica Westrich Joins Women's Soccer Coaching Staff

CHICAGO – Former Northwestern All-American Erica Westrich has joined the DePaul women’s soccer staff as an assistant coach. Westrich begins her coaching career assisting head coach Erin Chastain in all aspects of the DePaul women’s soccer program.
“I am extremely excited to add Erica Westrich to our women’s soccer staff. Erica had an outstanding playing career at Northwestern University and was consistently one of the top players in the Big Ten Conference,” said Chastain. “Erica’s personality, enthusiasm and knowledge will add a tremendous amount of value to our program. I feel very fortunate that Erica has decided to start her coaching career with our program.”
Westrich, the 1998 Big Ten Player of the Year and third team All-American by Soccer Buzz, was a four-year standout at Northwestern. She led the Wildcats to a pair of NCAA Championship appearances including a run to the third round of the 1998 tournament. The 1996 Big Ten Freshman of the Year was a four-time All-Big Ten honoree and picked up NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region honors on three occasions. She ranks among Northwestern career leaders in points, goals and assists after totaling 39 points on 14 career goals and 11 assists.
Westrich graduated from Northwestern in 2000 with a History degree and was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. Prior to starting her coaching career at DePaul, she worked as a sales representative in the health management and pharmaceutical industries.
