Women's Tennis Faces Notre Dame and Marquette

CHICAGO The No. 61 DePaul women’s tennis team closes out its regular season this weekend with a pair of BIG EAST Conference duals in Notre Dame, Indiana. The Blue Demons challenge No. 16 Notre Dame on Friday at 2 p.m. (CST) before they face Marquette on Saturday at 9 a.m.
DePaul (16-4, 5-0 BIG EAST) enters the weekend on a seven-dual winning streak. Last weekend saw the Blue Demons post a pair of 7-0 shutouts over BIG EAST rivals Cincinnati and Seton Hall. Senior Gergana Ganeva raised her dual-season singles record to 14-6 with a pair of victories, while junior Dunja Antunovic posted her 10th win in the No. 1 slot.
Through 20 spring duals, freshman Selma Salkovic carries a singles record of 17-2 and sophomore Kirsten Gambrell holds a record of 15-4. Antunovic and Gambrell are 11-1 when paired in doubles play, while senior Beatrix Csordas boasts a 10-2 doubles record when partnered with Salkovic.
Notre Dame (16-8, 3-0 BIG EAST) comes off a narrow 4-3 loss to No. 1 Northwestern. Last weekend saw Marquette (11-11, 6-1 BIG EAST) knock off Cincinnati, 6-1, and Seton Hall, 7-0.
DePaul split its meetings with Notre Dame and Marquette during the 2007 season. The Blue Demons posted a 4-3 win over the Golden Eagles on April 13 before they suffered a 7-0 loss to Notre Dame.
