In the last three weeks, sophomore Mary Cate Quiett and junior Terah Cheatham led the women’s squad to a third place finish at the DePaul Opener and a sixth place finish at the Fordham Fiasco. Each took turns pacing the team as Cheatham placed third overall at the opener, and Quiett placed 13th at Fordham..
Freshman Matthew Graham was top finisher for the Blue Demons in both races this season. During the DePaul Opener, Graham placed third to lift his team to a third place finish. Following a second place performance at the Fordham Fiasco, Graham was named BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the week. Also running strong for DePaul was junior Jakub Kolacz, who placed eighth at the opener, while placing 10th at Fordham.
The 2007 National Catholic Championships saw DePaul finish fifth in both the men’s and women’s standings. Notre Dame claimed both team titles, while Mike Anderson of Dayton won the men’s individual crown and Notre Dame’s Marissa Treece won the women’s race.
