In the second half, the Cyclones nearly took the lead with a shot by Lauren Odino at 65:17, but goalkeeper Kelsey Hoinkes prevented it with a save which pushed the ball out of bounds. Shortly after, Reid took a corner kick and Lauren Fader connected on the rebound to add the eventual game-winner and put Iowa State ahead, 2-1, at 65:42.
Reid later scored on a one-timer from Amanda Nimtz to add the insurance goal in the 82nd minute.
