EVANSTON, Ill. - DePaul's Anna Redecsi and Selma Salkovic advanced at the ITA Midwest Regional on Friday at Northwestern's Combe Indoor Tennis Center.
Redecsi and Salkovic entered the Regional Championship ranked No. 31 and received a first round bye in the tournament. The pair dominated IPFW's Amy Recht and Katie Brie and will play Michigan's Michielle Sulahain and Mimi Nguyen for the right to advance to the round of eight. The DePaul pair is 4-1 this season and have won their last two matches.
The Blue Demon duo of Gia McKnight and Katarina Milinkovic went 1-1 on the day. The pair topped Michigan State's Amy Barton and Whitney Wilson 8-4. Keeping with their momentum, McKnight and Milinkovic gave the tournament's top-seeded pair of Kristy Frilling and Kali Krisik from Notre Dame a fight, but succumbed 8-4 to bow out of the doubles bracket.
