Walker's 31 Points Not Enough at West Virginia

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - Alex Ruoff scored 20 points to lead five West Virginia players in double figures as the Mountaineers defeated DePaul, 82-63, on Wednesday night.
West Virginia (21-9, 10-7 Big East) got the win despite a huge effort from DePaul's Will Walker, who hit seven three-pointers and finished with 31 points.
The Mountaineers never trailed, and built a lead as large as 15 points in the first half before Walker led the Blue Demons (8-22, 0-17) back into the game.
West Virginia clinched a first-round bye in next week's Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden. The Mountaineers have not lost a game this season in which they scored at least 70 points.
Dar Tucker added 18 and a team-high seven rebounds for DePaul.
DePaul plays at Georgetown on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT on ESPNU. Following the final regular-season game against the Hoyas, the Blue Demons open the BIG EAST Tournament on Tuesday.
