Emergency Action Plan - Allstate Arena

Emergency Personnel
Certified Athletic Trainer(s) (ATC) are on site for practice and competition. Physician(s) are on site for competition; paramedic crew is on site for competition (stationed on floor in main tunnel). Ambulance present for competition positioned outside arena at the tunnel entrance.
In the event that no emergency personnel are present, activate EMS with a phone call to 911.
Emergency Communication
Fixed telephone line in arena entrance to main tunnel. ATC mobile phone: Jarett Mason - (773) 213-1694.
Emergency Equipment
AED and first-aid supplies on home bench during practice and competition. Spine board, splints and trauma kit located with paramedics in main tunnel during competition only.
Role of First Responders
Team physician or ATC will provide immediate care of the injured or ill student-athlete with assistance from other team personnel if necessary.
Any necessary emergency equipment will be retrieved by the ATC, physician or other team personnel at the discretion of the team physician or ATC.
EMS will be activated by the ATC, or other team personnel at the discretion of the team physician or ATC.
Team personnel or event management staff will open the tunnel door, meet EMS at the exterior tunnel entrance and direct them to the scene. For competitions when EMS is on site, team personnel or a member of the event management staff will direct EMS from the main tunnel area to the scene.
The event management staff will limit the scene to medical personnel and move bystanders away from the area.

- Number and condition of individuals injured
- Care being given and by whom (doctor, ATC, paramedics, etc.)
Directions to Allstate Arena
From O'Hare International Airport: East on Interstate I-90 to Mannheim Road North exit. Proceed north on Mannheim Road about 1 1/2 miles. Approximate total time: 5 minutes
From Downtown Chicago: West on the Kennedy Expressway (I-90) to Northwest Tollway (I-90). Exit Northwest Tollway at Lee Street, first exit after first toll booth. The Allstate Arena is on your right after exiting. Approximate total time: 30 minutes
From Southbound or Northbound Tri-State Tollway (I-294): Exit at Northwest Tollway (I-90). Proceed on Northwest Tollway to Lee Street exit, first exit after first toll booth. The Allstate Arena is on your right after exiting.
From Eastbound Northwest Tollway (I-90): Exit at O'Hare International Airport exit (I-190 west). Proceed on I-190 to Mannheim Road north exit. Take Mannheim Road north about 1 1/2 miles to Allstate Arena parking lot.
Direct EMS to tunnel at west end of the building and have someone MEET THEM THERE! STAY ON THE LINE UNTIL HELP ARRIVES.
