DePaul Travels to Cincinnati and Louisville

CHICAGO - The DePaul volleyball team (1-16, 0-4 BIG EAST) continue its road swing with matches three and four this weekend of the five-game stretch away from McGrath Arena. DePaul plays at Cincinnati (15-3, 4-0 BIG EAST) on Friday night before a Sunday matinee at Louisville (8-5, 3-1 BIG EAST).
The Blue Demons opened the road trip with a pair of league losses at Georgetown and USF last weekend. DePaul dropped a 3-1 loss against the Hoyas on Friday and a 3-1 loss to the Bulls on Sunday. Against Georgetown, the Blue Demons posted a 25-15 win in the second set to knot the match at 1-1 before dropping the last two sets by a combined six points (25-21, 25-23). At USF, DePaul opened the match with a 25-11 first set victory before a close 27-25 decision in game two. Games three and four saw the Bulls post set wins of 25-16 and 25-19.
The fifth and final game of the stretch is next Friday at Notre Dame. DePaul returns to McGrath Arena on Sunday, Oct. 17 for a non-conference match against SIU-Edwardsville at 2 p.m.
DePaul vs. Cincinnati
Cincinnati sits atop the BIG EAST standings with a 4-0 league record along with Notre Dame... the Bearcats are ranked 12st in this week's AVCA top 25... overall, Cincinnati is 15-3 with an eight-match winning streak... a year ago, the Bearcats posted a 3-0 win at McGrath Arena... Cincinnati and Notre Dame clash at Fifth Third Arena on Sunday afternoon.
DePaul vs. Louisville
Louisville enters the BIG EAST weekend at 8-5 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST play... the Cardinals host Notre Dame on Saturday prior to playing DePaul on Sunday... Louisville has won three of its last four matches... the Cardinals knocked off DePaul, 3-0, at McGrath Arena in the last meeting.
Double Digit Digs
Katherine Knutson has had double digit digs in 12 matches this season. She leads the team with 4.15 digs per set and recorded 20 digs in each match against Georgetown and USF last weekend.
Freshman Standout
Freshman Chelsea Kirkpatrick has been in double digits kills six times this season and leads the team with 2.28 kills per set.
