EVANSTON, Ill - The #35 DePaul women's tennis team concluded the Northwestern Invitational at the Combe Indoor Tennis Center on Sunday. The Blue Demons, who competed against teams from #9 Northwestern, #54 Florida International and UIC, finished the three-tournament with 12 wins and picked up two wins in the final day of competition.
The freshman pair of Kelsey Lawson and Christiana Raymond started the day off with an 8-2 win over Giulietta Boha and Magali Holt from UIC to improve to 3-2 on the season.
Gia McKnight tallied DePaul's lone win on the singles court. The junior overtook Maria Spenceley 6-1, 6-2 for her fifth singles victory the young season.
The Blue Demons return to action next weekend when they host a doubleheader dual at the Lakeshore Athletic Club on Jan. 22. DePaul takes on Eastern Michigan at 2 p.m., before tangling with Western Illinois at 6 p.m.
