Macari Brooks Withdraws From DePaul

CHICAGO - DePaul coach Oliver Purnell announced today that freshman guard Macari Brooks has withdrawn from DePaul. Brooks withdrew from DePaul following further review by the NCAA regarding his initial eligibility status.

It was announced on Oct. 14 that Brooks received partial relief through the waiver process after his initial eligibility was denied by the NCAA Eligibility Center.

The 6-2 guard signed his National Letter of Intent with DePaul in November 2010 and concluded his prep career at Rich South High School with second team Illinois All-State honors from the Associated Press and Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.
