
Martin Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

CHICAGO - DePaul junior guard Anna Martin was named to the BIG EAST Conference Women's Basketball Weekly Honor Roll it was announced by the conference office on Monday. Martin has led No. 23/18 DePaul (4-1) in scoring this season, averaging 21.0 points per contest.
Martin scored a season-high 29 points vs. Portland on Nov. 19 and followed that performance up with 22 points against Hawaii on Nov. 20. Martin's scoring average of 21.0 points ties for the lead with BIG EAST Player of the Week Skylar Diggins from Notre Dame.
The Kentucky native leads the Blue Demons and the BIG EAST with 15 3-pointers. Martin is .577 from behind the arc in DePaul's first five games and ranks third in 3-point field goal percentage in the league. The junior tied a career-high with five 3-pointers against Portland and Hawaii.
On the season, Martin is 39-for-63 (.619) from the field which ranks fifth in the league.
Defensively, the junior tied a career-best with four steals against St. Mary's and Portland and had a career-high two blocks vs. St. Mary's
Martin was named to the Maggie Dixon and Jack in and Box Rainbow Wahine All-Tournament Teams. She led all scorers at the Rainbow Wahine Tournament with 23.0 points per game.
The honor is Martin's third in her career. She was named to the conference's honor roll as a freshman and sophomore.
DePaul returns to action on Nov. 27 in Evanston when it tangles with Northwestern. The game is scheduled to tip at 2 p.m. and can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.
