CHICAGO - The No. 23/21 DePaul women's basketball team hits the road and travels to Illinois State for a 7 p.m. game on Dec. 19. The Blue Demons and Redbirds are set to tip at the Redbird Arena while the game can be heard live on DePaul's BlueTube with Cami Padilla calling the action. The Blue Demons (10-2) have posted a perfect 3-0 road record this season and are averaging 85.3 points in those games. This season, DePaul has topped Hawaii (90-65), Northwestern (88-72) and Princeton (78-67).
A potent and balanced offensive attack, the Blue Demons are averaging 79.9 points per contest. Anna Martin leads three Blue Demons in double-digits with 17.8 points per outing while she also paces the team in 3-point field goals (28), 3-point field goal percentage (.509), assists (45) and steals (26).
In DePaul's last four games -- five different players have paced the team in scoring. Against SIU-Edwardsville, Brittany Hrynko and Martin each tallied 15 in the win. Against Tennessee, at Princeton and versus Arizona State -- Jasmine Penny, Keisha Hampton and Hrynko, each respectively led DePaul in scoring. Hampton is averaging 17.4 point for the second best team average and Hrynko sits at 11.3 points. Penny, who has reached double-figures in five of DePaul's last seven games, averages 8.8 points.
Illinois State (5-4) is returning to the court after a 10-day layoff for final exams. The Redbirds are 3-1 on their home court this season with their lone loss coming to Illinois (66-56) on Dec. 7. Katie Broadway leads ISU and four Redbirds in scoring with 15.1 points and 24 3-pointers.
DePaul leads the all-time series with Illinois State 8-3 and has won the last five meetings. The Blue Demons are 3-2 in games played at Redbird Arena and most recently escaped a 63-61 overtime thriller in 2009. Last season in Lincoln Park, the Blue Demons won 100-83 with Hampton scoring 30 points and Martin dishing out five assists.
Following Monday's game, the Blue Demons close out 2011 with games against Southern Illinois and Northern Illinois at McGrath-Phillips Arena. DePaul and the Salukis tip at 7 p.m. on Dec. 22 while the Huskies visit Lincoln Park on New Year's Eve. Tip on Dec. 31 is scheduled for 2 p.m.

- It Could Happen: Coach Doug Bruno could win his 538th career coaching victory and 498th at the collegiate level... with one 3-pointer it would run DePaul's streak to 72 consecutive games with a 3-pointer... Hampton needs three points to tie Mfon Udoka (1994-98) for 11th (1,569 points) DePaul's all-time scoring list... a win would be DePaul's 13th straight over teams from the State of Illinois.
