Cross Country Honored

CHICAGO- The DePaul men's and women's cross country teams were honored this week for their performance in the classroom. Both teams were named All-Academic Cross Country Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five athletes at their respective NCAA regional championship.
With a cumulative GPA of 3.64, the DePaul women's team owns the ninth highest GPA in the Country. Alabama reported the highest cumulative GPA with 3.88, while Villanova was named the NCAA Division I Cross Country Women's Scholar Team of the Year.
The men's team had a cumulative GPA of 3.41, which ranks 19 highest in the country. Florida State took home the NCAA Division I Cross Country Men's Scholar Team of the Year trophy and Mississippi Valley State reported the highest cumulative GPA among All-Academic honorees with a 3.62.
The BIG EAST Conference led all conferences with 12 members represented on the women's list and the BIG EAST had nine men teams earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors.
