Women's Tennis Announces 2011-12 Schedule

CHICAGO -- DePaul head women's tennis coach Mark Ardizzone announced on Thursday his team's 2011-12 schedule. The Blue Demons are slated to play in six tournaments, including the BIG EAST Championships, while DePaul is set to clash with seven NCAA tournament teams including two at home - SMU and USF.
The Blue Demons begin their campaign on Sept. 30 in Evanston at Northwestern's Wildcat Invitational, before traveling to Houston for the Rice Invitational, Oct. 7-9.
DePaul returns to the Midwest for the ITA Midwest Regional which is hosted by Ohio State (Oct 20-24) before closing out the fall season at the Bronco Invitational (Nov. 4-6) which is hosted by Western Michigan.
Just like in the fall -- the Blue Demons begin their spring season at Northwestern on Jan. 13 for a three-day invitational in Evanston.
The following weekend DePaul hosts a doubleheader duel at the Lakeshore Athletic Club when it welcomes Cleveland State and Chicago State on Jan. 21. The Blue Demons close out the month in Indiana by squaring off at IPFW (Jan. 28) followed by a match at Butler (Jan. 29).
DePaul plays eight matches in the month of February including home matches against Western Illinois (Feb. 3) and SMU (Feb. 4). The Blue Demons head to Madison, Wis., for duels with Wisconsin and NCAA participant North Carolina State, Feb. 10 and 11, respectively.
DePaul engages in three road matches at the end of the month -- traveling to Western Michigan on Feb. 17 before ending the weekend in Bloomington, Ind. against the Hoosiers. The Blue Demons stay in Big Ten country for a duel at Ohio State - a rematch of their 2010 NCAA First Round opponent before playing 2011 NCAA tournament participant Arkansas on Feb. 25 in Columbus, Ohio.
The Blue Demons head to Milwaukee for a neutral site clash with BIG EAST Conference foe Rutgers on Mar. 3 before traveling to Iowa City for duel against the Hawkeyes the next day.
With a Spring Break trip planned to Charleston, S.C., the Blue Demons will square off against Northwestern on Mar. 21.
The end of March sees DePaul against its rival on the road at Notre Dame on the 31st. The duel is the first of five consecutive matches against BIG EAST opponents. DePaul hosts Cincinnati on April 1 before heading to Storrs, Conn., for matches against St. John's (April 7) and Connecticut on April 8.
The Blue Demons return to Chicago and close out their season by hosting Marquette on April 14 and end the regular season against rival and NCAA Tournament participant USF on April 15.
The BIG EAST Championship is in Tampa, Fla., April 19-22, while the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championship are scheduled for May 11-12.
