Blue Demons Drop Second Straight on the Road

NEWARK, N.J. - The road in the BIG EAST continued to be unfriendly to DePaul as the Blue Demons dropped a 94-73 game at No. 24 Seton Hall on Tuesday. Brandon Young led three players in double-figures with 16 points as DePaul dropped its second straight game on the current three-game road swing.
DePaul trailed by as many as 24 points with 15 minutes left before cutting the deficit to nine on two free throws by Cleveland Melvin with eight minutes remaining. Seton Hall (15-2, 4-1 BIG EAST) answered with a 9-2 run to extend the lead and put DePaul away for good.
The Pirates shot a combined .606 from the field in the first half to take a 51-34 lead at halftime. Fuquan Edwin scored 24 of his game-high 28 points in the first half to lead the Seton Hall attack.
Jordan Theodore and Herb Pope each posted a double-double with Theodore totaling 26 points and 11 assists and Pope grabbing 13 boards with 11 points.
Worrel Clahar came off the bench and scored a career-high 14 points and Melvin also added 14 for the Blue Demons. DePaul (10-6, 1-3 BIG EAST) shot just .343 from the field in the game that included a 5-for-20 mark from three-point range.
DePaul concludes its three-game road trip this week with a Saturday afternoon game at Louisville. The Blue Demons and Cardinals are scheduled for a 4 p.m. ET start at the KFC Yum! Center.
