PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Jasmin Kling and Patricia Fargas saw their doubles run come to an end on Wednesday, falling against Tennessee's 34th-ranked Brynn Boren and Kata Szekely, 8-3, at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships.
"It was great to beat the 25th and 40th-ranked teams," said head coach Mark Ardizzone. "Playing together for the first time, it was a great effort."
The duo finished 2-1 against three ITA-ranked opponents at the tournament, and fell just one win short of reaching the prestigious main draw beginning tomorrow (Thursday, October 4).
Kling and Fargas defeated Kansas' 25th-ranked Dylan Windom and Monica Pezzoti, 8-6, in the first round of doubles qualifying and also defeated Yale's 40th-ranked pair of Elizabeth Epstein and Annie Sullivan, 8-3, earlier in the day.
