CHICAGO -- The DePaul women's tennis team travels to Evanston, Ill., this weekend for the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Northwestern University.
Play is scheduled to begin on Friday (Oct. 4). The tournament will conclude on Sunday, Oct. 6.
The Wildcat Invitational will be the Blue Demons' first action since three players competed at the ITA All-American Pre-Qualifier in Palisades, Calif., last week. At the Pre-Qualifier, Patricia Fargas knocked off UCLA's Kaitlyn Ray, who came into the tournament seeded No. 2 and was ranked the No. 79 singles player in the country, in a four-hour match, 7-6, 3-6, 7-6 (7). In addition, Jasmin Kling advanced to the Round of 16 by picking up two singles victories. Ana Vladutu participated in both singles and doubles draws last week for DePaul.
The Wildcat Invitational is DePaul's second fall tournament of the 2013-14 season. The Blue Demons opened their campaign on Sept. 20-22 in Ann Arbor, Mich., at the Michigan Invitational.
