Kling Wins Singles Draw at Robert Allison Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The DePaul women's tennis team concluded play at the Roberta Allison Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Senior Jasmin Kling led the way on the tournament's second day with a win in the championship match of the Glinzler singles draw, defeating Alabama's Carmen Blanco, 6-2, 6-4.
Ana Vladutu also participated in the finals of the Bentley singles draw but fell to Natalia Maynetto (Alabama), 6-4, 6-4.
Yuliya Shupenia emerged victorious in the consolation bracket of the Lindsay singles draw, beating Anna Romeka (Louisiana-Monroe), 6-0, 6-4.
In doubles play, Shupenia and Vladutu won their pool, going 3-0 for the tournament, and Fargas teamed with Kling to knock off Michigan's Yurovsky and Lee, the nation's No. 14 pair in the country.
The Blue Demons' fall season continues Nov. 8-10 at the Northwestern Fall Invitational.
