CHICAGO - DePaul remained at No. 18 in the Associated Press women's basketball national rankings despite losing one of its first three games of the season.
A quality loss to No. 5/5 Texas A&M was reflected in The AP poll released Monday. The Blue Demons dropped to No. 20 in the USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll.
Backing up their AP ranking, the Blue Demons followed last Friday's 76-68 loss to the Aggies with two resounding victories---93-70 over Texas-Pan American and 97-59 over New Mexico at the Maggie Dixon Classic. Texas-Pan American lost by two points to Texas A&M on Sunday.
There was no movement in the AP top 10. Defending national champion Connecticut remained on top followed by South Carolina and Notre Dame, whom the Blue Demons confront on Dec. 10 at McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Stanford is No. 6 in this week's AP national poll followed by Duke, Baylor, Maryland and Texas.
Jessica January enters the week as DePaul's leading scorer at 16.7 points per game. Brittany Hrynko is averaging 15.3 followed by Megan Rogowski (12.3 points) and Megan Podkowa (11.7 points).
Chanise Jenkins tops the team in assists with 17. Schulte is the leading rebounder at 5.3 per game followed by Podkowa at 5.0.
After three games, the Blue Demons are outscoring their opponents by an average of 86.0-68.3 and have forced nearly 30 turnovers per game.
DePaul faces Bradley in a 5:30 p.m. game Tuesday at Allstate Arena.
