Henry, Hamilton and Crockett Lead DePaul Over Stanford

ROSEMONT, Ill. - DePaul contributed to the outstanding start of the season by the BIG EAST membership with a convincing 87-72 win over Stanford on Sunday. Myke Henry followed up his first career double-double on Wednesday with a career-high 29 points against the Cardinal.
Henry scored in a variety of ways from inside and outside for his second straight game of 20 or more points. On Wednesday against Lehigh, he posted a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double before going 12-of-18 from the field on Sunday while also grabbing six boards with three assists, three blocked shots and two steals.
DePaul (3-1) started slow trailing 12-8 following a three-point play by Chasson Randle with just over 15 minutes left in the first half. After the lead changed hands over the next three minutes, a dunk by Henry gave the Blue Demons a 19-18 lead and DePaul never looked back.
The Blue Demons finished the first half with a 12-2 run that saw a one-point advantage grow to a 41-30 lead at intermission.
DePaul's advantage grew as high as 18 points within the first four minutes of the second half, but Stanford (4-2) started to chip away and pulled to within nine on a three-pointer with 12:53 on the clock.
The gap closed to five points, but the Blue Demons answered once again with a 10-2 run fueled by free throws from Henry, Jamee Crockett, Tommy Hamilton IV and Durrell McDonald. Crockett's two free throws with 5:41 left pushed the lead to 70-57.
Stanford was unable to put together a final push as DePaul closed out the game by going 7-for-8 from the free throw line.
Henry led three players in double-figures with Crockett scoring 19 points and Hamilton adding 14 with a team-high seven rebounds. Billy Garrett Jr. and Aaron Simpson each scored nine points while McDonald finished with seven points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Stanford was led by Randle with 16 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Stefan Nastic added 16 points and three rebounds.
DePaul has a quick turnaround with the Stanford game serving as the first of four games in an eight-day span. The Blue Demons host Northern Illinois at Allstate Arena on Tuesday night before playing at Chicago State on Thursday evening. Milwaukee then visits Rosemont next Sunday afternoon.
