
Blue Demons Go 5-0 on Friday at Wildcat Invitational

EVANSTON, Ill. -- The DePaul women's tennis team began the Northwestern Fall Invitational with a perfect 5-0 singles record on Friday afternoon in Evanston.
Today marked the first of three days of competition this weekend. The invitational concludes Sunday.
Freshman Patricia Lancranjan posted one of DePaul's five wins today by defeating Furman's Ansley Speaks in convincing fashion, 6-1, 6-0. Rebeca Mitrea also handled Furman's Karlee Bryde by the same score and Patricia Fargas notched the Blue Demons' third win of the day over a Furman opponent by beating Alex Moreno-Kaste in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.
Elsewhere, Yuliya Shupenia topped Sherry Li (Yale), 6-4, 6-0, and Jarret Fisher held off Yale's Caroline Lynch, 5-7, 6-3, 7-5.
