Blue Demons Sweep Singles Slate in Evanston

EVANSTON, Ill. -- For the second consecutive day, the DePaul women's tennis team failed to lose a singles match at the Northwestern Fall Invitational, posting a perfect 6-0 mark on Saturday afternoon.
DePaul also went 2-1 in doubles, moving its Saturday record to 8-1 overall.
Playing six student-athletes from Princeton, Patricia Lancranjan led DePaul off with a 6-0, 6-4 win over Alanna Wolff. Then Yuliya Shupenia topped Dorothy Tang, 6-4, 6-1. Patricia Fargas notched a solid 6-3, 6-2 win over Emily Hahn and Jasmin Kling defeated Katrine Steffensen, 6-1, 6-2. Finally, Rebeca Mitrea beat Sivan Krems, 6-0, 7-5, and Jarret Fisher tallied a 6-2, 6-4 win over Joan Cannon.
In doubles, Shupenia and Ana Vladutu beat Cannon and Wolff, 8-4, and Lancranjan paired with Mitrea to defeat Krems and Hahn, 8-5.
The Northwestern Invite concludes tomorrow in Evanston.
