CHICAGO - Brittany Hrynko earned her third BIG EAST Conference accolade of the season on Monday after leading No. 25/25 DePaul to a pair of nonconference victories last week.
Hrynko was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after compiling 39 points, 17 assists, seven steals and shooting 64 percent from the field in an 86-67 win over Hampton and a 99-62 triumph at Illinois State.
The recognition signified that Hrynko had one of the top seven performances in the league last week.
She was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 8 and selected for the Honor Roll on Dec. 15.
The multi-talented senior guard leads the BIG EAST in assists and is third in scoring and steals. She is No. 5 in the conference in assist/turnover ratio and sixth in field goal percentage.
Hrynko became the third BIG EAST player and second from DePaul this season (Chanise Jenkins) to record a points-assist double-double with a game-high 20 points and a BIG EAST season-high 11 assists while adding five steals in Sunday's 99-62 win at Illinois State.
Earlier in the week, Hrynko had 19 points, six assists, five rebounds and two steals in an 86-67 win over Hampton while shooting 8-of-12 from the floor.
In a 2-0 week, the Blue Demons won by a combined 56 points. That resulted in DePaul climbing to No. 25 in the Associated Press national poll released on Monday.
Hrynko will lead DePaul (9-4, 1-0) into a BIG EAST weekend that features a 6 p.m. game Friday at Villanova and a 4 p.m. game Sunday at Georgetown.
