ATHENS, Ga. -- DePaul sophomore Ana Vladutu fell in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Women's Tennis Singles Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at the University of Georgia.
Vladutu, the No. 112 player in the nation, was ousted by No. 38 Kyle McPhillips (UCLA), 6-1, 6-2.
For McPhillips, the victory comes just a day after the Bruins captured the 2014 NCAA Championship over North Carolina.
The loss was just the sixth dual loss of the year for Vladutu. She finishes the season with a 14-6 dual mark.
