Babicz Wins Again at Mike Lints Open

ALLENDALE, Mich. -- Matt Babicz won his third consecutive shot put event to lead the Blue Demons on Friday afternoon at the Mike Lints Open in Allendale, Mich.
The event, DePaul's third of the season, was hosted by Grand Valley State University.
Babicz logged a best throw of 18.88 meters to win the shot put event. The Blue Demons also picked up an individual win from Jackie Kasal, who took the 800-meter run in 2:16.95. Shianne Baggett finished second in the same race, crossing the finish line in 2:17.25.
In the men's 1,000, Scott Arsenault placed first, finishing the race in 2:28.14. Jeremy Lozano took third in the 1,000, ending the event with a time of 2:29.93.
In the women's long jump, MaShayla Kirksy took second with a best jump of 5.38 meters. Elsewhere, Ivy Dobson placed second in the 60-meter dash, crossing the line in 7.02 seconds.
As a team, the women finished the day with 66 points, good enough for fourth place overall. The men took sixth with 49 points.
The Blue Demons continue their season next weekend (Jan. 24) at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, Ind.
